About Untold Stories & The Charlie Shrem Show Podcast
Hi, I’m Charlie Shrem. I’ve been in the Bitcoin world since 2011, when I co-founded BitInstant — one of the first companies to make it easier for people to buy and use Bitcoin. Back then, crypto was just an idea shared by a small group of builders, and we had no idea where it would all go. We just believed in what we were doing.
Since then, I’ve seen this space grow from a small online movement into a global force. I’ve had a front-row seat — through the highs, the crashes, the innovation, and the setbacks. I’ve made some good calls and some painful mistakes, and I’ve lived through the consequences of both. But through it all, one thing has never changed: my belief in the power of this technology and the people behind it.
That’s why I created Untold Stories.
This show is a way to document the real history of crypto — through conversations with the people who were there. I talk to founders, developers, investors, early adopters, and leaders who shaped this industry from the start. These aren’t interviews. They’re honest conversations about what really happened, how decisions were made, and what we learned along the way.
Over the past few years, I’ve recorded more than 400 episodes. Some of the guests are household names in the crypto world. Others are people you may not have heard of but whose impact has been just as deep. What they all have in common is that they’ve helped build this space, and their stories deserve to be heard.
Untold Stories is part oral history, part conversation, and part reflection. It’s for people who want to understand where crypto came from, how it got here, and where it might be going. It’s also for anyone who believes that the people behind the technology matter — their values, their challenges, and their journeys.
I’ve always believed that if we don’t tell our own stories, someone else will — and they might get it wrong. So this is my way of preserving what I’ve seen and sharing what I’ve learned, one episode at a time.
Thanks for listening.
